MES PENS\u00c9ES:<\/b><\/p>\n

<\/b>C'\u00e9tait une forte recommandation d'un ami qui est venu au hangar \u00e0 livres d'occasion o\u00f9 j'ai fait du b\u00e9n\u00e9volat pendant un certain temps. Elle a sorti celui-ci du commerce et m'a dit qu'il \u00e9tait g\u00e9nial. Eh bien, les recommandations fortuites sont trop rares pour que j\u2019en manque une seule. Je suis d'accord que c'\u00e9tait une histoire tr\u00e8s agr\u00e9able et j'ai d\u00e9cid\u00e9 de synchroniser cette critique avec les c\u00e9l\u00e9brations du jubil\u00e9 de platine de la reine, qui commencent cette semaine. Maintenant, je suis s\u00fbr que je n'\u00e9tais pas le seul \u00e0 \u00eatre un peu confus par les dates, puisque la reine a \u00e9t\u00e9 couronn\u00e9e en 1952, mais son couronnement n'a eu lieu qu'en 1953. Grand-m\u00e8re Bonner, la belle-m\u00e8re critique et acerbe, ne peut r\u00e9sister \u00e0 l'id\u00e9e d'\u00eatre pr\u00e9sente \u00e0 un moment historique important. Et Violet, la jeune \u00e9pouse inqui\u00e8te, part justement boire une gorg\u00e9e de champagne. <\/p>\n

Eh bien, il s\u2019av\u00e8re que les escrocs et les fraudeurs \u00e9taient aussi occup\u00e9s en 1953 qu\u2019ils ne l\u2019avaient jamais \u00e9t\u00e9. Les billets des Claggs s'av\u00e8rent absolument sans valeur. Mais ce qui leur semble \u00eatre un d\u00e9sastre s\u2019av\u00e8re apporter un brillant r\u00e9confort \u00e0 chaque membre de la famille au fil de la journ\u00e9e. Je ne peux pas am\u00e9liorer la fa\u00e7on dont le texte de pr\u00e9sentation de la jaquette le dit. \u00ab Chaque personne a appris \u00e0 abandonner ses propres objectifs et d\u00e9sirs. Cependant, chacun rentrait chez lui charg\u00e9 de cadeaux et de richesses bien au-del\u00e0 de ses esp\u00e9rances, qui les accompagneraient pour le reste de leur vie. <\/b>Bref, ce n\u2019est finalement pas une journ\u00e9e totalement perdue. <\/p>\n

Cette histoire est un exemple convaincant de la mani\u00e8re dont les pauvres peuvent poss\u00e9der un raccourci vers le bonheur et le contentement dont les riches ne disposent pas parce que leurs normes sur ce qui devrait cocher nos cases sont incroyablement \u00e9lev\u00e9es. Les Clagg n'ont peut-\u00eatre pas de noms, mais sans le dire directement, Paul Gallico donne l'impression qu'\u00e0 long terme, ils pourraient avoir bien plus de moments de contentement et de satisfaction tout au long de leur vie que les VIP qui sont consid\u00e9r\u00e9s comme beaucoup plus importants. Surtout s\u2019ils continuent \u00e0 adopter les m\u00eames attitudes r\u00e9silientes.<\/p>\n

C'est un de ces romans qui se d\u00e9roulent en une seule journ\u00e9e. Wow, le bruit et l'agitation \u00e9crasants de ce grand jour \u00e0 Londres transparaissent haut et fort \u00e0 travers les pages. \u00c0 partir de 1981, \u00e0 la t\u00e9l\u00e9vision, j'ai regard\u00e9 quatre mariages royaux et les fun\u00e9railles du prince Philip. Et maintenant, \u00e0 travers ce petit roman, j'ai l'impression d'avoir moi aussi assist\u00e9 au couronnement de la reine, m\u00eame si je n'ai pas vu Liz ou Phil en personne. Et quand les Claggs sont finalement arriv\u00e9s \u00e0 la maison, j'ai senti mes oreilles bourdonner \u00e0 cause du silence soudain. Je pense que cela pourrait \u00eatre une lecture nostalgique pour ceux qui \u00e9taient l\u00e0 \u00e0 l\u2019\u00e9poque. <\/p>\n

Je suis heureux que les Claggs aient \u00e9t\u00e9 satisfaits de la fa\u00e7on dont les choses se sont d\u00e9roul\u00e9es, m\u00eame si je ne suis pas convaincu que je serais \u00e0 leur place. Peut-\u00eatre ai-je encore un peu \u00e0 d\u00e9sirer dans l\u2019art du l\u00e2cher prise. <\/p>\n
