Despite being ninety years old, the rodent duo remains in top shape, becoming an icon loved by children and adults alike.<\/h3>\n

Last weekend, Disney's most famous mouse, Mickey Mouse, along with his inseparable companion, Minnie Mouse, turned 90 and the Disney empire celebrated in style.<\/p>\n

Both rodents first appeared in the short crazy plane<\/em> on May 15, 1928, but achieved success on November 18, 1928 with Steamboat Willie <\/em>at the Colony Theater in New York, becoming the first black-and-white animation with a synchronized soundtrack.<\/p>\n

This peculiar character with big ears and a charismatic air appeared because Walt Disney was forced to find a successor to his star Oswald the Lucky Rabbit, as a distributor took away the rights. Who could have imagined that this setback would give rise to one of the most iconic characters in children's cinema?<\/p>\n

At first, Disney decided to call his new character Mortimer, but his wife Lilian suggested that he change to the name Mickey Mouse, undoubtedly a great choice. Although its name is quite universal, there are countries where it is not known as such, for example, in Italy it is called Topolino, in Sweden, Musse Pigg, and in China, Mi Lau Shu. The first sketches came from the hands of cartoonist Ubbe Iwerks, who captured Disney's idea.<\/p>\n

Over these 90 years, his appearance has undergone changes adapting to each season, in 1929 Mickey put on his famous gloves, and a few years later eyebrows and pupils were added to his eyes, giving him a more modern appearance.<\/p>\n

In 1929 with the short film The Carnival Boy,<\/em> Mickey spoke for the first time. Interestingly, during these nine decades only five men voiced him: Walt Disney who lent his voice until 1947, replaced by Jimmy MacDonald who was demoted in 1977 by Wayne Allwine and as of 2009 Bret Iwan and Chris Diamantopoulos are the most famous voice actors famous. Later, in 1940, he would leave his mark with the sequence The Sorcerer's Apprentice, in the film Chic<\/em>. Furthermore, hundreds of brands wanted to pay tribute to them, some of them like Bershka, a young company owned by Inditex, or the Spanish textile company El Ganso, which launched a collection of clothes inspired by them. Pandora also joined the party, despite collaborating with Disney since 2014, and for its birthday it put a silver Mickey pendant and a 90 gold pendant on sale. However, artists and designers such as Dolce & Gabbana or Andy Warhol have already created creations with this company.<\/p>\n

In short, these characters with a charismatic air, despite being the longest-lived animated couple in the world, continue to be an icon loved by both children and adults and as Walt Disney said: \u201cI hope we never lose sight of one thing: that everything It started with a mouse.<\/p>\n
