The most surreal film of the year
Vicious Bear (titled cocaine teddy bear in English) is a film that if they hadn't told you it was inspired by real events, you would never have imagined. The feature film opens with a drug dealer throwing bags full of cocaine into a Kentucky forest. A black bear finds packages lying on the mountain and starts eating themand that's when chaos begins in the forest.
The film is produced and directed by Elizabeth Banks, and has an ensemble cast. Among them are: O'Shea Jackson Jr (the rapper's eldest son ice Cube), Keri Russell, Alden Ehrenreich and Ray Liotta, from what was his last feature film before his death in May 2022.

Inspired by real events
One of the most interesting points of the film is that it is inspired by real events, which gives it, at least at the beginning, an air of credibility to what you are seeing. They support each other real local news videos from 1985 when the events occurred, in the middle of the war on drugs. The real bear was nicknamed Pablo Eskobearwho unfortunately died within hours due to an overdose.
Another positive point of the film is all his subplots. The film's plot revolves exclusively around the massacre caused by the bear. There doesn't need to be a lot of character development. That's why they chose to tell the story of the traffickers, the children and their mother, the forest ranger and the group of forest bandits. That are intertwined and have a common denominator: escaping from the bear that is out of its mind.
what to expect from vicious bear?
The tape has touches of different genres. There are many comedy bits that they will make you laugh. In addition to the satirical tone that the entire film has, providing (false) data taken from Wikipedia. Many of the scenes of the bear chasing its victims through the woods looked like they were taken straight from a horror movie. Without ignoring the blood of some of his victims.
It's not a film that has great pretensions.. It is designed to have fun in the cinema while you watch it, while at the same time being scared by the surreal situation. It's simple and gets straight to the point. It's not disappointing if you're already expecting what the tone of the film will be.
