GETAFE / 17 OCT / CULTURE _ General Palácio square and its surroundings host a new edition of the old and used book fair, where residents have the opportunity to see and buy books for all ages at different stalls.

The book as a physical medium is experiencing its “particular crisis” and these types of initiatives seek to “recover” readers and the pleasure of reading, given so many people who have “forgotten” their books on the shelves and drawers. The offer varies between “bargains for one or two euros”, news, comics and many children's stories.

The Fair without the splendor of the past runs until October 30th and “on purpose” coincides with the Getafe Negro Festival to “concentrate all literary activity on these dates”, says the councilor for culture, Pablo Martínez.

As parallel activities there will be storytelling, “express” and “chained” presentations and the presence of authors such as Juan Madrid, Lorenzo Silva, Andreú Martín or Alexis Ravelo.
