The cultural program organized by the Department of Culture, Tourism and Sports for Holy Week includes saetas from balconies and accompaniment of processions, organ concerts in the parish of San Ginés, the actions of the Municipal Symphonic Band in La Almudena cathedral and the traditional play the drums in Plaza Mayor.

It was also created to guide residents and visitors of Madrid for the processions that will take place these days through the streets of the city, an illustrated map with the route and information about the main processions that the city hosts between Sorrowful Friday and Holy Saturday.

The Municipal Symphonic Banddirected by maestro Jan Cober, will be responsible for a new concert, Today, Thursday, March 30th, at 8pm., in the Cathedral of Santa María la Real de la Almudena. The musical group will perform Mozart's Requiem Mass.

Another of the most exciting moments will take place with the intervention of great flamenco singers who will sing saetas as some of the processions pass by most famous in the capital. The first of them will be Kiki Morente, good Friday April 7th at 8:30 pm, in the procession of Jesús de Medinaceli. The next day, the holy saturday April 8th at 6pm. it will be Lela Soto “Sordera”’s turn in the Soledad procession. On this same day, at 19:00.the Plaza Mayor will be the stage for “Arrows from balconies“.

Finally, the traditional “play the drums" at the main square. It will be on Resurrection Sunday, April 9, at 1 pm, by La Real, Very Illustrious and Ancient Confraternity of the Slavery of Jesus Nazareno and Conversion of Santa Madalena de Zaragoza.
