City Hall provides new tool to visitors to discover and enjoy the capital to the fullest, the “Madrid City Card“. The Tourism Councilor, Almudena Maíllo, presented this official tourist card today of the city that combines the transport pass for tourists with easy access to around thirty tourist, cultural and leisure resources in Madrid. Features include many special benefits and discounts for visitors.

The aim of the project is to improve the quality of customer service and give greater projection to the capital’s tourist resources. Furthermore, it is committed to a more sustainable tourism model, by including travel around the city using the subway, suburban train and urban bus network.

The Councilor for Tourism, Almudena Maíllo, explained that this initiative is in accordance with one of the main guidelines of “Tourism Strategic Plan“, which involves making Madrid a reference destination in the visitor experience and also advancing other objectives such as improving sustainability and digitalization. Thanks to this product, explained the councilor, it will be possible to better understand the tourism source markets and analyze both their consumption habits in the city and their preferences.

Madrid City Cardoffers preferential access to certain establishments, special advantages and reduced prices at some of the capital's major attractions. Furthermore, this new card integrates and publicizes other spaces of interest to the visitor, such as the municipal museums that are free and that promote the city's extensive cultural heritage. The board plans to add other features and features to this product progressively.

The card will be available from next Monday, April 3, and can be purchased at the Plaza Mayor Tourism Center and at the tourist information points in Callao, Royal Palace, Paseo del Prado and Reina Sofía Museum. It can also be booked from anywhere in the world through its website and later make payment and collect the card at any of its points of sale .

This tourist tool is available in two modalities, adults and children and can be purchased by one day for 8.40 euros or two days for 14.20 euros. Children up to 11 years old benefit from a discount on fifty % on these fees. Children under 4 do not need a card to access their benefits or public transport.
