Ignasi Vidal tells what led him to write “In the turtle's shell” and what are the main ideas that are addressed in the work.”One day I decided to write about the contradictions of human beings.those that lead us to say one thing and do the opposite“, comments the author. And expresses”that urgent need we have to appear exactly the opposite of who we are, which taken to extremes where a lack of empathy occupies the place that compassion should occupy in the soul, can result in the most aberrant of situations“.
The author adds that “when these characters are developed in a liberal, artistic and apparently liberal environment, they take on grotesque tones. And it is in this environment that I develop this work that puts on the table a universal social scourge and how the executioner, the victim and the spectator coexist”.
